David Dierig, Ph.D.

David Dierig, Ph.D. – Plant Geneticist/Arid Land Crops

Dr. Dierig is a Research Plant Geneticist at the United States Department of Agriculture’s Arid Lands Agricultural Research Center, located in Maricopa, AZ. His work aims to evaluate, improve, and develop new/alternative industrial crops with unique high-value products derived from seed oils and their byproducts. He has published numerous papers in this field and is an expert on arid land crops in general and lesquerella in particular. Currently he is heading a project that looks to develop improved germplasm for high-yield, cost-competitive oilseed crops producing bio-fuels and other bio-based products as environmentally sound alternatives to petroleum-based products.

Dr. Dierig and Dr.Percy function in a strictly advisory capacity as per provisions of USDA policy. They have no holdings or other stake in Eco-Sol or Southwestern Agricultural Technologies nor do they receive any compensation. They have followed proper departmental procedure and have official approval to function in this capacity.
